Anglesey Country House

It was back in September when I met up with my  old friends from the US.Who having been around Scotland with  me decided to come back and asked me to look after them in Wales. We met in Manchester and en route to Wales stopped of in the lovely walled city of Chester for lunch.

In the afternoon we carried on to our  country house in Anglesey which came with a housekeeper/breakfast chef.

It was fun living in this ancient mansion and  the rooms were all different most had surprising features which added to the fun of the whole affair.

Various days out were planned ; walking part of the Anglesey Coastal Path with local guides was voted a great success.Whilst visits to castles at Carnaerfon, Beaumaris and Conwy all had their own attractions. Conwy was voted the winner perhaps due to the lovely walk around the town walls after lunch.A successful sea fishing trip was taken from Holyhead.

We ate very well with a mix of expertise from within the group and caterers providing us with sumptious dinners.Lunches were taken in pubs that we had  researched beforehand.

On the shopping front antiques came at the top of the list. But just as interesting for the group was to visit the smaller deli stores and local butcher who provided  the meat for our dinners.
