Crossing the Minch...and other tunes

Just completed a great trip on the annual Ed Miller Traditional Music Tour. From Edinburgh through Fife to Dunkeld with songs from Jim and Susie Malcolm.A day out in Angus with Bothy singer Scot Gardiner and then north to the Highlands and Culloden.Joined by folklorist and singer Margaret Bennett and fiddler Iain Fraser we sailed  into Stornoway having had a great music session  en route. This included Iain playing the lovely fiddle tune " Crossing the Minch"...Highlights on Lewis were dancing inside a Broch and hearing Margaret sing at Callanish. Then Iain and Margaret making a lovely combination in St Clements Chapel on Harris.

We danced to the Ness Melodian Band and learned new dances from Jane McLeod.Back to mainland and more music in Plockton from students from the Music School and dancing reels in fine style. South then  via Glencoe and Balquhidder back to Edinburgh for a great set from Charlie Allan and George Archibald.

In between hills hiked, photos shot, Golden Eagles spotted , Atlantic Paddles and lots of sunshine and seafood making for a really enjoyable trip with a fantastic group of people from all over the US.

Haste ye back !.
